Space Technologies for Sustainable Development

The 3rd International Scientific Seminar “Space Technologies for Sustainable Development”, dedicated to the World Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics, was opened on April 12, 2019 in the scientific library of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the support of the UN Information Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ban Ki-Moon Institute for Sustainable Development.
The seminar program included presentations and discussions on the following topics:
– Biotechnology in the field of space research;
– Solar energy and space technology;
– Space civilization and technology of the future;
– Space debris problems and sustainable development.
Head of the Department of Press and Electronic Media of the KazNU, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Gulmira Sultanbaeva, Head of the Department of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Almash Arenova, Head of the UN Information Office in the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdurahim Mukhidov welcomed the participants, noted the importance of the topic of the seminar, and participated in the discussion.
Representatives of the United Nations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, media representatives, professors and scientists of Almaty universities, students, undergraduates and doctoral students of mechanical and mathematical, physical and technological, biology and biotechnology and the faculty of journalism of the Kazakh National University took part in the seminar.
